5 small forwards free agent options in 2021: Denzel Valentine
Besides his second season, Denzel Valentine hasn’t been able to show his full arrange of skills on the NBA level. In fact, Valentine is coming off his worst season as a professional. However, that doesn’t mean that the Sixers shouldn’t be interested in the former lottery pick.
Last season with the Chicago Bulls, he averaged 6.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists, while making 33.1 percent of his 3-pointers. His 3-point percentage was at a career low, but for his career, he’s shot around 35.7 percent from downtown.
Not only is he a capable 3-point shooter, but he can rebound and play make well for his position. He’s not a good defender and at 6-foot-4 he’s a bit undersized for three spot, but like most players on this list, he can shift between the shooting guard and small forward positions.
He’s probably not a starter for the Philadelphia 76ers, but given more responsibilities in the second unit might be good for the 27-year-old wing. He can be a very solid secondary playmaker for the Sixers.
