5 power forwards free agent options: Paul Millsap

Paul Millsap is one of the players that Christopher Kline of The Sixer Sense wrote about as a potential free agent target. At the age of 36 years old, it’s hard to determine how much left he has in the tank.

Last season, Millsap averaged 9.0 points and 4.7 rebounds, while making 34.3 percent for his downtown shots. He’s not the same player who was made four All-Star appearances in his career, but last season with the Denver Nuggets, he proved that he can still contributor on a winning team.

He’s still a two-way player and despite being 6-foot-7, he’s capable of being a backup center as well as a backup power forward. He won’t be a starter in Philly like he was for most of his four year tenure with Denver, but he can be a severable backup if he still can play.

The Sixers would probably need to pay the mid-level exception to land Millsap, but it’s a gamble. If he doesn’t have anything left in the tank then it’s a bad move, however, if he does then it’s a great pickup.
