There are so many possibilities this offseason for Philadelphia. A Ben Simmons trade? A Tobias Harris trade? A Joel Em… no, that’s not happening. Though it is up for debate, the Sixers need to find themselves a true point guard in free agency, whether it is to run with the starting five or the bench unit.

They need another addition, especially if Ben Simmons is traded. The Sixers need a true point guard more than ever to dish to Seth Curry, Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid. Is Maxey the answer? Yes, but not yet. He is still very young with time to learn. They need immediate impact.

With that being said, there are not many point guard available that are worthy of a starting position, so the bench is the key vision.

Point guard options remaining in Sixers free agency: Ryan Arcidiacono

Ryan Arcidiacono would give the 76ers speed and durability off the bench. He has the potential to give Philly exactly what T.J. McConnell did in his time with the Sixers. Arcidiacono spent last season in Chicago, giving the Bulls a spark off the bench and playing in late-game situations because of the trust between him and the coaching staff.  Also, he spent his college days in Philadelphia for Villanova and was a fan favorite. Who doesn’t love a “hometown” story?

Point guard options remaining in Sixers free agency: Reggie Jackson

Reggie Jackson is one of the best free agents available in any position and it is uncertain exactly how much he will get on the market. A lot of analysts predicted him to go to New York to join the Knicks, but that seems off the table at this point. As mentioned, it is unsure how much Jackson will ask for this free agency and it may be out of Philly’s pay grade. If the 76ers decide to move on from Simmons or Harris, they may have enough room to actually make this signing. It will be very interesting to see the market for Reggie Jackson after he finally showed up in the NBA Playoffs this year.
