On this episode of the Sixer Sense Podcast, we focus on a variety of topics surrounding the Sixers, especially the free agency moves made by Philadelphia.

Christopher Kline, Uriah Young, and Alex Insdorf start off the podcast with one of the biggest surprises in free agency. The addition of Andre Drummond to back up Joel Embiid was a move not many people saw coming. We talk about his fit with the team, and how effective he can be coming off the bench.

Then, we discuss the re-signing up Furkan Korkmaz. Taking less money than expected, Korkmaz signed a contract with the 76ers that will pay him $15 million over three years. We reflect on his past four years in the league and explore ways that he can still contribute to the team.

The podcast shifts gears and looks at the signing of another 3-point shooter. Following several decent years in Utah coming off the bench, Georges Niang signed with the Sixers to add a more potent offensive threat from the perimeter. The discussion illuminates his production and where he fits in the rotation.

The Sixers signed a few useful players in free agency, but the Ben Simmons drama has escalated to a fever pitch.

Next, the trio goes into the rest of the league’s free agency moves, most notably the big splashes made by the Lakers, Bulls, and Heat. We also bring up teams who did not made much noise at all since free agency started.

The final topic of the podcast targets the Sixers’ polarizing point guard, Ben Simmons. We dissect Ramona Shelburne’s comment on The Jump that indicated the 76ers are willing to have Simmons return. We then offer thoughts about Simmons’ recent social media post that showed him shooting in the gym with a trainer. We all agreed that Simmons’ time in Philly must end at some point.
