Potential Simmons trades with each California team: Los Angeles Lakers:

Sending Simmons to the Los Angeles Lakers is the one hypothetical deal that would need a three-team trade. A deal between the Philadelphia 76ers and Lakers just wouldn’t work between the two clubs. With that in mind, the New York Knicks were brought in and below is what a three-team trade might look like between the clubs involved.

The Knicks get the superstar player that the fan base has begging for since the Carmelo Anthony era in Russell Westbrook and solid depth with Shake Milton. Simmons becomes the third wheel to LeBron James and Anthony Davis in L.A., which is something he should love.

The Sixers get a solid haul in this fake trade. Kemba Walker is a former All-Star who has had a full offseason to get healthy and has a chance to return his top level of play. Evan Fournier is a three level scorer and can create a little for others.

Obi Toppin was a lottery pick in the 2020 draft and hasn’t been given a chance to develop playing behind Julius Randle. Getting just a 2022 first round pick swap and a 2023 first round pick is not ideal but the Knicks are giving up a lot already. Overall, this isn’t a terrible return for the Sixers All-Star and it could be a good starting point, but it shouldn’t be the end result for a three-team trade between the clubs.
