Predicting Sixers NBA 2K22 ratings — Tyrese Maxey, 77

Tyrese Maxey finished last season at a 77 and should begin his sophomore campaign in a similar spot. While Maxey’s role can only grow from here, he didn’t receive consistent, meaningful playing time until the playoffs became do-or-die. Rivers’ reluctance to trust him will ultimately keep his score from squeaking any higher, even if it deserves to.

That said, Maxey is looking at a much bigger role in 2021-22. He projects as Philadelphia’s backup point guard and de facto sixth man, with too much blatant proof of his basketball abilities for even Doc Rivers to ignore. Maxey is too important to Philadelphia’s offense not to break out on some level.

Guards of Maxey’s ilk tend to grade out well in 2K. It’s a game of offense, and Maxey can generate offense. He’s a bucket-getter at heart, with quick feet, slick handles, and some burgeoning ancillary skills. If he gets the playing time, he could push up toward 80 by season’s end.

Until then, we are in wait and see mode. Maxey’s role, while bound to get bigger, remains undetermined. Rivers has a soft spot for Shake Milton, and the departure of George Hill is counterbalanced somewhat by the arrival of a legitimate power forward in Niang.
