Predicting Sixers NBA 2K22 ratings — Danny Green, 77

Danny Green finished last season at 76, which is remarkably low for a player of his caliber. Green was the undisputed fourth-best player on the Sixers’ roster for most of last season, and he could resume that title next season. He’s getting older and has no doubt lost a step, but even so, he’s a rock-solid 3-and-D wing.

This inevitably comes down to the nature of 2K ratings (again). Green is pretty limited offensively. He can drain spot-up 3s, but ask him to dribble around or create going downhill, and you soon wish you’d never asked. When it comes to game mechanics, it’s hard for Green’s rating to reflect his impact when he’s so one-dimensional on the offensive end.

Green is also on the decline defensively. He’s an excellent team defender, with the awareness, quick hands, and vocal leadership to make a consistently positive impact on that side of the ball. Unfortunately, he’s pretty much toast when asked to guard reasonably quick players one-on-one. Especially when they aren’t Russell Westbrook and can hit jumpers outside eight feet.

Even so, there’s no reason Green should be any lower than 78 or 79, and he should probably be on roughly the same level as Seth Curry (more on him next). Given the nature of the game and past evidence, however, expect Green to be underrated once again.
