Sixers free agent tracker 2021 offseason: Centers

Boban Marjanovic (2018-19)

While I promoted reuniting the Bobi and Tobi show in Philadelphia earlier in the offseason, Boban Marjanovic decided to re-sign with the Mavericks and Tobias Harris is still on the 76ers. Marjanovic is one of the tallest players in the NBA and was a fan favorite in Philly.

JaVale McGee (2014-15)

More from The Sixer Sense

JaVale McGee‘s time on the Sixers was brief as the franchise received him in a trade and waived him six games later. McGee has reinvented himself in the second half of his career and will now be a quality backup for the Phoenix Suns next season.

Mike Muscala (2018-19)

While Mike Muscala was primarily a power forward in Philly, he’s been a center in recent seasons. The past two seasons he’s been on the Oklahoma City Thunder and he re-signed with the Thunder for two more seasons.

Nerlens Noel (2013-17)

Nerlens Noel was the original poster child for the 76ers’ rebuild and yet he was never really the face of the franchise. Outside of one season with the Dallas Mavericks, he was never a starting center on a regular basis. He’s a quality backup and has found a home with New York Knicks.

Tony Bradley (2020-21)

When Tony Bradley was on the Sixers, I was very high on him as a player. He was sadly traded during this past season to the Thunder. He signed with the Chicago Bulls this offseason where he’s set up to be the primary backup center.

Dwight Howard (2020-21)

The third time’s the charm with Dwight Howard and the Los Angeles Lakers, who he joined for the third time in his career this offseason. Howard was one of the better backup centers Philly had in the past several seasons, but at 35-years-old, he’s well past his prime and was limited in his tenure with the Sixers.

Richaun Holmes (2015-18)

The 76ers traded Richaun Holmes away for virtually nothing and it hurt them for a long time trying to find a quality backup for Joel Embiid. Holmes has become a quality starting center in the NBA and just got paid by the Sacramento Kings in free agency.

Most of the former Philadelphia 76ers free agents have found homes for next year, but it’s fun to see where former players are at now during the offseason.
