Thus far this offseason, I’ve ranked Ben Simmons compared to his fellow starters at the point guard position. With that in mind, it’s time to rank the Philadelphia 76ers‘ starting shooting guard against the rest. Seth Curry was solid all season long and stepped it up in the postseason. However, will it help move up from his previous ranking from the last time I ranked him against his fellow starting shooting guards?

There isn’t a lot of start power at the shooting guard position entering this season, but it’s a deep position. Honestly, I struggled to rank some of these players more than any other list I’m currently working on.

If you’d like to see where Curry ranked during this past regular season, check out this link.

30. Wayne Ellington

By virtue of playing on the Los Angeles Lakers, Wayne Ellington‘s shooting will experience a new high considering he’s playing with playmakers like LeBron James and Russell Westbrook. Ellington is a solid 3-point veteran but outside of that, he doesn’t provide much else. However, that’s all the Lakers need from their starting shooting guard.

29. Nickeil Alexander-Walker

Entering his third season, Nickeil Alexander-Walker (NAW) has a real chance to become the starting shooting guard for the New Orleans Pelicans. His shooting puts him ahead of Josh Hart on the depth chart. NAW has combo guard skills and could very well be much higher on this list by the time another rankings list comes out.

28. Terance Mann

This spot would usually be filled by Paul George but with Kawhi Leonard projected to miss most, if not all of next season, Terance Mann should get every chance to claim this starting gig. He showed real potential for the Clippers last season and could be in line for a breakout year. However, until he does show that, Mann is right where he needs to be in these rankings.

27. Lonnie Walker IV

Entering his fourth season, Lonnie Walker has been developing into a solid two-way player. It doesn’t appear he has star potential and that’s ok. He’s going to be a solid role player for a long time. It should be noted that I’m projecting that he will beat out Derrick White for the starting job on the San Antonio Spurs. Even if that ends up not being the case, White would still be ranked here on this list as well.

26. Luguentz Dort

Luguentz Dort made a big leap as a 3-point shooter last year for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was always a great defender, but his offense has been a work in progress. Entering this year he will have two dynamic playmakers in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey so he should see a jump in his efficiency next year.
