Philadelphia 76ers: Ranking starting shooting guards in 2021 preseason
5. Donovan Mitchell
The Utah Jazz fell short of their title aspirations last postseason but it wasn’t because of Donovan Mitchell. He’s one of the best scorers in the NBA and his second best player is a defensive center, which isn’t enough talent to surround around him. It sounds a lot like what happened with Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers in the early 2000s. It might take a few more seasons, but Mitchell could follow Iverson’s path soon enough.
4. Devin Booker

Chris Paul may have been the most important player to the Phoenix Suns NBA Finals run, but Devin Booker was the best player on that team. Booker’s offensive game is similar to that of Kobe Bryant’s. His defense still needs improvement, but he’s a finished product on offense and should have the Suns right back in the title hunt next season.
3. Klay Thompson
If Klay Thompson wasn’t coming off of two major injuries, he’d be higher on this list, possibly even number one. However, that’s not the case and it may take him some time before he returns to form. However, when he’s healthy, Thompson is one of the best shooting guards in the NBA and a top-five 3-point shooter of all-time.
2. Kyrie Irving
After being a point guard for most of his career, Kyrie Irving switched to the shooting guard after the James Harden trade. Being a shooting guard is probably better for Irving considering he’s more of a score-first type of guy. If he stays healthy and does not take any personal leaves, he could end up being number one on this list.
1. Bradley Beal
Bradley Beal has been a 30 point per game score for the past two seasons and without a legit second star on the Washington Wizards entering this year, he’s in line to do it again for a third season in a row. Beal has earned his spot on top of this list but deserves a better situation than what he’s currently in.
