The Ben Simmons saga is getting out of hand. It’s rumored that he wants out and won’t report to training camp if it gets to that point. It’s also been reported by Chris Broussard of FS1, that Simmons is willing to play for any other NBA teams except for the Philadelphia 76ers.

If Simmons is in fact willing to play for any of the other 29 NBA teams, then it only makes sense to rank them in order of how he fits on that roster. This list won’t include potential trades, but it will take into account how Simmons fits with the team’s core and/or best player.

29. Milwaukee Bucks

Simmons joining the reigning NBA championship Milwaukee Bucks doesn’t make any sense. The Bucks have a better version of him in Giannis Antetokounmpo and the two players just wouldn’t compliment each other. The Bucks would get worse if they added Simmons to their core.

28. Los Angeles Lakers

Even if the Los Angeles Lakers would offload Russell Westbrook in order to add Simmons, Simmons still wouldn’t be a great fit on this roster. He and LeBron James have overlapping skills that don’t fit well together. Simmons would also clog up the lane for LeBron and Anthony Davis who are better finishers than he is.

27. New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson is one of the best interior scorers in the NBA and he’s developing into a solid playmaker. Like with LeBron and Giannis before, the overlapping skills of Williamson and Simmons simply wouldn’t fit on the New Orleans Pelicans.

26. Miami Heat

Sure the fit on the court with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Simmons wouldn’t be great. There’s also the Miami Heat’s strong culture that might not fit well with Simmons’ personality. Honestly, Heat fans probably don’t want to see Butler and Simmons part two either.
