20. Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons are a rebuilding team with a bright future. However, adding Simmons to the mix wouldn’t with their young core. Both Killian Hayes and Cade Cunningham are primary playmakers, so adding Simmons to that group wouldn’t work. However, spacing with this core wouldn’t be a big issue.

19. Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards don’t have stretch centers on their roster, so floor spacing would be an issue. They also have a plethora of forwards, even if one or two of them were traded, it would still be a deep position. However, the fit with Bradley Beal and/or Spencer Dinwiddie would be a nice fit with Simmons on the court though.

18. Orlando Magic

Like the Pistons, the Orlando Magic are a deep young rebuilding team. Simmons could come in there and dominate if that was in his nature, but it’s not. How he would share a backcourt with ball-dominant guards like Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony, and Markelle Fultz is the biggest question. The sample size with Simmons and Fultz isn’t encouraging.

17. Memphis Grizzlies

The fit with Simmons and Memphis Grizzlies isn’t ideal but workable. It would have to cause some lineup changes. Jaren Jackson Jr. to the center position and benching Steven Adams, as well as, starting Desmond Bane over Kyle Anderson for more shooting. It’s workable but it might not maximize their talent at the center position.

16. Charlotte Hornets

There’s no denying that it would be fun to see Simmons and LaMelo Ball run a fast break. However, the Charlotte Hornets don’t have a stretch five and have solid depth at both forward positions. Still, there’s no denying that the two tall playmakers would be fun to watch.
