Re-drafting Philadelphia 76ers 2012 picks
With the 27th pick, the Philadelphia 76ers select…
One of the worst first round picks that was made in the past 10 years by the Philadelphia 76ers was made at this spot. Not only was it because of the players selected but also what the 76ers gave up to move up to get that player.
Arnett Moultrie was an athletic big man that never figured it out in the NBA. He only lasted two seasons in the NBA while averaging 3.6 points and 3.1 rebounds. He clearly wasn’t the player that the Sixers should have targeted when they traded up.
Instead, they should have gone for Khris Middleton. Middleton was the clutch player for the Milwaukee Bucks as they won an NBA title this past year. Middleton is a legit three-level score and defender at the small forward spot.
He has a career average of 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals, while shooting 39.5 percent from the 3-point line. He’s made the All-Star team twice in his career, and should still be in line for a few more appearances before his career is all said and done.
