Grading Hornets Simmons’ proposed trades: Deal number two

This second potential trade that Jackson came up with was a bit creative, but from the outset, I’m not liking this deal as much as the first one.

The Philadelphia 76ers would be receiving four players in this hypothetical deal. Terry Rozier, Miles Bridges, Jalen McDaniels, and Miles Plumlee are all good players who can still contribute to a winning team. However, these aren’t the type of players who move the needle for the Sixers titles hopes.

Rozier is a high-volume scorer who’s not a great playmaker or defender at the point guard position. Bridges has upside thanks to his freakish athleticism, but he’s at best a fifth starter for a championship team. McDaniels has potential as a defender but is raw. Plumlee is a solid backup option, but he’s getting paid too much for that role in Philly and it could be argued he’d be third on the depth chart behind Andre Drummond.

Only getting one future first round pick in this deal is simply not enough for what the Hornets are sending. Overall the headliners in this deal aren’t good enough for the 76ers to be legitly interested in this deal. The Sixers would hang up on the Hornets if this is what they offered.
