3 players who should play on the Blue Coats this year: Charles Bassey

Eventually, Charles Bassey will officially sign his contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. He was the 53rd pick that the Sixers traded for so that they could draft him, so clearly they view him as a part of the future.

Bassey has potential as he’s 6-foot-11 and a solid 235 lbs at just 20-years-old. In his last season of college, he averaged 17.6 points and 11.6 rebounds. He’s a long athletic big man who can potentially become a good rim protector in the NBA.

However, there’s a reason why he was drafted near the end of the second round of the draft. He’s still a raw prospect despite already playing three seasons of college ball. He needs time to develop and playing on the Blue Coats would help him in a big way in that regard.

He needs in-game reps and if he’s getting minutes on the 76ers this year, then something terribly wrong must have happened considering he’s third or fourth on the depth. Young centers take a longer time to develop so there’s no harm in him playing in Delaware the majority of next season.
