Grading 3 potential Simmons trades from Kings: Youth deal

This next hypothetical trade has upside but has some inherent risk to it as well. If the Philadelphia 76ers were in a rebuild, this deal might make the most sense, but they aren’t.

Davion Mitchell looks like a promising prospect as he won MVP of the NBA Summer League. He’s a defensive force on the perimeter and could still develop into a solid two-way point guard. However, he’s going to need a few seasons to grow.

Buddy Hield might be one veteran on this roster that makes the most sense next to Embiid in terms of fit. He’s a top-five 3-point shooter in the NBA and when used to his max potential can be a 20-point per game scorer.

I’ve already written about how I feel about Bagley so there’s no need to beat that dead horse again. However, getting three first round picks isn’t a bad haul in terms of draft capital. This deal isn’t perfect but it’s a place where negotiations can continue.
