Grading 3 potential Simmons trades from Kings: Counteroffer

It’s time for a hypothetical counteroffer to the Kings. The proposed deal below will not only benefit the Sixers and Sacramento but also the third team included in the deal.

In this deal, the 76ers land Hield, Haliburton, and Terrence Ross, plus two Kings first round picks in 2022 and 2024. This is an upgrade from Carroll’s final deal and terms of getting a very good sixth man in Ross and an extra pick versus Bagley.

Sacramento not only gets Simmons who is an elite playmaker and defender, but also a solid scoring guard off the bench in Shake Milton. On top of that, they still get to unload Bagley, which it is clear that Carroll was trying to do that in his deal.

The Magic get a big man who has more upside than their current bunch of young centers. Bagley can be better than Wendell Carter Jr. and Mohamed Bamba. He will get a chance to win their starting center spot and show why he was the number two pick in the draft. They also get a 2023 second round pick from the Kings and because they rebuilding flipping Ross for Bagley plus a pick makes sense.

Carroll of A Royal Pain had some solid deals in his article, but the counter offer here is more of a fair offer for the Philadelphia 76ers’ All-Star player.
