Power ranking the Atlantic Division: New York Knicks

The New York Knicks surprised a lot of people last season by being earning the fourth spot in the East. They are not only bringing back the core, but they also improved the roster as well. That being written they probably aren’t going to have as good as a record this season.

The main reason being is that the East is healthier and deeper than they were last season. With that in mind, the Knicks could still be a top-six or seven seed in the conference. They have a good head coach in Tom Thibodeau and a legit star in Julius Randle who is coming off a most improved player campaign.

Besides Randle returning, RJ Barrett is entering his third season where it’s fair to expect another step in his development. Bringing in veteran scorers like Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier were smart moves by the club as well. Veteran centers Nerlens Noel (former Philadelphia 76ers lottery pick) and Mitchell Robinson will make their defense scary.

The young core of Barrett, Obi Toppin, Immanuel Quickley, Miles McBride, and Quentin Grimes gives them a bright future. While also having a veteran sixth man like Derrick Rose will help them stay a competitive playoff team. They just are missing that one legit superstar from being a true contender in the East.
