Sixers: Ben Simmons the feeling is mutual, its time to say goodbye
Fast forward to October 19th, 2021. Ben Simmons doesn’t want to be a part of the Philadelphia 76ers organization any longer, his shortcomings have caused a ripple effect across the Philadelphia sports world, causing division even in the Sixers locker room. Doc Rivers throwing Simmons out of practice today, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, is the culmination of a tumultuous meltdown that started back in late June.
We all know what happened. No need to elaborate. The ball doesn’t lie. It’s very clear to the basketball world that Ben Simmons dislikes Philadelphia. He wants a trade.
Well, Simmons, on behalf of the Philadelphia 76ers fanbase, I would like to say…
The feeling is mutual. Please do us a favor and don’t play a single game for this team this year. We’re all tired of you.
We’re tired of seeing you play in fear when the moment of truth presents itself. Yet, you play with so much confidence when we see your summer workout highlights on Twitter and Instagram. Seems like you play with an air of superiority when the local post office worker or sanitation worker shows up for a game of pick-up and you just so happen to be in the gym.
Interesting.
We’re tired of seeing unrealized Hall of Fame talent being wasted due to Ben Simmons not being able to get out of Ben Simmons’ way. Let’s be very clear: the only one that can stop you, is YOU. However, you are doing a better job at it than any elite defender has done.
