Point guard ring chasers the Sixers missed in free agency

  • Chris Paul

The only reason CP3 isn’t in the veteran category is because he has yet to exorcise his playoff demons. He came very close last year with Phoenix and will run it back with the Suns this year to try again. That said, he could be exactly what this team is looking for at the point guard spot.

Chris Paul is also in a very different spot because he is the only player mentioned that didn’t end up switching teams this offseason. CP plays the game with a fire that can really grind on his teammates. This is always something to consider with Chris Paul — how he would fit with the personalities that are already on the roster?

The thing that can not be ignored is what his presence did last year for the Suns.  While he is not solely responsible and a lot of credit also has to go to Monty Williams, it’s hard to ignore the evolution of that team with Paul running the show on the court. It’s that leadership and that presence that he provides in Phoenix that could go a long way in pushing the Sixers to that next level and elevating all of those around him.

  • Patrick Beverley

Pat Beverley has always been a pest. He’s one of those classic examples of a guy who is beloved by teammates and fan bases and hated by opposing players and fan bases. Sixers fans would love Beverley. The way he plays would add so much grit and toughness and take this team to the next level defensively.

Don’t overlook the shooting ability that he could also add. He has been part of some really good teams and played big roles in playoff runs but he is still searching for that ring and the Sixers would give him a much better opportunity then his current situation in Minnesota.
