Georges Niang must provide solid minutes from the bench
Scoring points will be the main concern for the Sixers during this 10-game stretch. Georges Niang has proven that he can provide points off the bench for Doc Rivers’s squad. Niang’s twenty-one-point performance against the Portland Trail Blazers earlier this month helped the Sixers extend what would become a six-game winning streak.
Philadelphia’s fifth-year forward has contributed in other ways as well. His 2.6 rebounds per night have made a difference in the Sixers backcourt. The absence of Embiid will cause the Sixers to start players that will help collect rebounds off the offensive and defensive glass.
The absence of Joel Embiid will force the Sixers ball club to play as one unit. Philadelphia will have to fend off inter-conference opponents while their All-Star center reoperates. Teams such as the Milwaukee Bucksand Toronto Raptors will be waiting to take advantage of the injured 76ers team. If the Sixers plan to remain a dominant team in the Eastern Conference, they must continue to play well despite injuries.
