On this episode of the Sixer Sense Podcast, we bring up a number of topics involving the Philadelphia 76ers, including the unfortunate losing streak that the team is trying to break. We start things off with the recent losses to Toronto and Indiana.

The Sixer Sense Podcast Episode 141 analysis.

First, Lucas Johnson and Christopher Kline analyze the play of the Sixers’ home loss to the Raptors. In a game that saw the 76ers come back in the fourth quarter, careless turnovers gave the Raptors a chance to pull away. The podcast explores other factors that led them to lose to a team that was also missing their star player in Pascal Siakam.

After that game analysis, the podcast dives into the Pacers’ loss on the road. With multiple “Process” Sixers playing for Indiana, it must have been sweet revenge for them to handle the 76ers in Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena. T.J. McConnell and Justin Holiday took it to the Sixers, and Philly was unable to recover before the buzzer sounded.

From there, we turn to one of the few bright spots that have emerged since Joel Embiid started missing games due to COVID-19. Tyrese Maxey’s steady performances receive plenty of praise in this segment. We mention his candidacy in the NBA Most Improved Player Award competition. Lucas and Chris debate if he really has a shot to win this year.

The final topic the podcast covers is related to Ben Simmons, who has clearly sent a message to the 76ers organization that he wants to be traded. Last week, his agent, Rich Paul, came out and fired shots at the Sixers management in terms of how they are handling the situation.

Seeking the best for their client, Klutch Sports represents Simmons, but the stalemate continues as Sixers’ president of basketball operations Daryl Morey refuses to budge. We offer our thoughts on both sides to bring perspective on the Simmons dilemma.
