Ranking the Sixers’ reserves — 8. Charles Bassey

The Sixers have kept Charles Bassey with the big-league team, despite being drafted over 20 spots below the aforementioned Springer. He hasn’t seen more than spot minutes in extremely shorthanded games, but there’s clear confidence from Doc Rivers in the 7-footer’s future. He’s big, mobile, and a former five-star recruit. The upside is there.

Ranking the Sixers’ reserves — 7. Isaiah Joe

Isaiah Joe opened the season with an opportunity to seize his spot in the regular rotation. He fumbled at the goal line, and has been sidelined due to COVID ever since, only returning recently. He played 23 minutes against Utah and shot 1-for-8 from deep. It’s good to see him confidently get up shots, and the percentages will come around, but it’s becoming less and less likely that Joe is a part of the rotation once everyone is healthy.

Ranking the Sixers’ reserves — 6. Paul Reed

Paul Reed is the nominal third center, which carries extra weight considering the fickle nature of Joel Embiid’s health. Reed has also proven he’s a rotation-caliber player this season, taking advantage of the extended run time. He’s an elite hustle player who just makes things happen defensively. The offense has gotten much better too, with Reed garnering a better understanding of his role and how to operate within a team context.
