3 needs that the Sixers have moving forward: Wing creator

This has been an issue that Simmons was meant to address but as most Sixers fans know, he fell short of that expectation. The franchise traded for one in Jimmy Butler, but then allowed him to leave in a sign-and-trade for the Miami Heat.

They have never filled that need since. Tobias Harris can’t create his own offense consistently and Tyrese Maxey hasn’t developed enough to show he can do it late in games either. That being written, before the season most fans, like myself, thought going after a point guard was the best route to fix this issue.

However, Maxey has proven he can be a long-term solution at point guard so going after another point guard wouldn’t be the best use of a Simmons trade. Instead, they need a three-level scoring wing, who can preferably play both ends of the court.

Having a wing creator would be ideal with the Philadelphia 76ers’ core of Embiid, Maxey, and Harris. Having a perimeter defender would sure up the lackluster defense and having a traditional point guard to come off the bench would help the flow of the offense, especially in the second unit.
