3 potential trades the Sixers should call the Blazers about: Scoring combo guard

There’s the potential of trade for CJ McCollum. Before this season, McCollum was one of my favorite targets and still is a good target. However, with the potential that Tyrese Maxey showed earlier this season, it’s hard to have McCollum to have a top target. However, he can still be a good target for the Philadelphia 76ers, and below is a potential trade to land him.

In this hypothetical deal, the Sixers get an All-Star level player in McCollum, a young defensive wing in Nassir Little, and a future first, along with a 2022 second round pick. The first round pick can’t be until 2024 because the Blazers dealt their 2022 first round pick and they can’t trade their 2023 so 2024 is the next year they can trade a pick. They give up Simmons and Paul Reed. The reason why Reed is traded is due to the quality depth at the big men positions for Philly.

I’ve already written about how McCollum is undervalued and how he could be an All-Star. This season, he’s averaging 20.4 points, 4.4 assists, and 1.1 steals, while converting 39.6 percent of his 3-pointers. His fit with Maxey puts this trade in doubt but 76ers head coach Doc Rivers could try to play the two together or if that doesn’t work Maxey can come off the bench.

Little is a young defensive wing that would fill a hole on defensive that Philly has. He’s not a great 3-point line, this season he’s averaging 8.3 points and 5.3 rebounds, while shooting 31.7 percent from the 3-point line.
