3 potential trades the Sixers should call the Blazers about: Landing a superstar

Then of course, there’s the best player on the Trail Blazers roster in Damian Lillard. It’s true that he struggled to begin the year and now he’s currently out with injury. This year, he’s averaging 21.5 points and 7.8 assists, while converting 30.2 percent from downtown. However, when healthy, Lillard is a superstar in this league and the Sixers should be willing to trade whatever the Blazers want for him if he wants to be traded.

Portland would probably have to make additional moves to accommodate the incoming players

The Blazers get a star in Ben Simmons. Yes, Simmons has his flaws, but he’s a player that they can build around at 25-years-old. He’s elite at everything else outside of shooting and pairing him with McCollum or rebuilding around him should intrigue Portland.

Matisse Thybulle is an All-Defensive player and is proving it yet again this season. He’s the type of young player that Billups would love to build a new defensive identity around. Getting Maxey is also a steal for the Blazers who has shown All-Star potential. In Portland with Simmons, Maxey would be allowed to do what he does best, which is to score.

Getting two first round picks (2022 and 2027) and two second round picks (2023 and 2024) is a solid pick return too, although it should be noted other teams could offer more in terms of draft picks.

The pairing of Lillard and Joel Embiid would make the Sixers an instant contender. If he becomes available the Philadelphia 76ers should try to do this proposed trade. Any of these trades would make the franchise better if they can be made.
