3 All-Star trade targets that would save the Philadelphia 76ers’ season: Brandon Ingram

I’ve long been a fan of Brandon Ingram, just listen to any of The Sixer Sense’s podcasts in which we talk about a Simmons trade. He’s a three-level scorer who’s underrated as a defender and playmaker.

The New Orleans Pelicans’ season is all but lost. Zion Williamson had had a setback in his recovery, per Andrew Lopez of ESPN. The club has a 13-23 record which is the second-worst in the Western Conference. When Ingram and Williamson have shared the court it hasn’t been especially successful.

The Pelicans should move on from Ingram and try to find a teammate who fits better next to Williamson. I’ve already written about two separate three-team deals involving Ingram and below will be another hypothetical one.

This is similar to the second fake three-team trade I wrote about recently. It involves the Pelicans, Sixers, and Sacramento Kings. In this proposed deal, the Sixers get Ingram, a 2024 protected first round pick from the Kings, and a 2022 second round pick from the Pelicans, via the Cleveland Cavaliers. Overall this is a great haul for Simmons considering where his perceived value on the market is.

The Pelicans get De’Aaron Fox, Marvin Bagley III, and a lightly protected 2022 first round pick from the Kings. It’s more than likely that even with this fake trade that this pick will have value. New Orleans gets a franchise point guard in Fox who despite having a down season, has proven in the past to play at an All-Star level. Bagley needs a fresh start and playing alongside Williamson might give his career the spark it desparately needs.

The Kings balance their roster out more with one less small guard with a 6-foot-10 All-Defensive player in Simmons. They also get veteran playmaker Tomas Satoransky who is also a solid 6-foot-7. This trade gives the Kings size on the perimeter that they have been lacking. On top of that, they get their own 2022 second round pick back from New Orleans. All three teams come away winners in this deal.

These three players could save the Philadelphia 76ers from wasting a season of Embiid’s prime. If the Sixers are indeed interested in these players then these proposed trades should get the deal done as well.
