Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been seriously outperforming everyone’s expectations for them this season. They are currently sitting at fifth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 21-16. Even though they have been this good, they are not a team that is anywhere close to championship caliber.
The Cavs are simply on this list because of the astronomical Kevin Love contract. Due to Kevin Love’s contract, it would make it easy to do some sort of Love and Harris swap, most likely having to involve a third team to make everyone happy. Harris would be an immediate improvement to the Cavs but would certainly not make them championship caliber. The Cavs with Harris are likely only one all-star away from being championship contenders.
New York Knicks
The Knicks are currently playing very poorly and have suboptimal contracts on their books for the next couple of years. The foursome of Evan Fournier, Alec Burks, Nerlens Noel, and Kemba Walker are making a combined $42 million this season. Maybe they could entice the 76ers to help them consolidate some of these players for one borderline all-star in Tobias Harris.
Magic, Thunder, Rockets, and Pistons
These teams are in complete rebuilding mode of likely would have any interest in any trades where they can gain assets for the future. Most likely none of these teams would want Harris, but they would likely be able to help facilitate any possible trades for a pick or two.
Most likely Harris will be on the Philadelphia 76ers until his contract expires. This is not necessarily a bad thing. Tobias is a good player that can be the third-best player on a championship-winning Sixers team. The only problem is that with Harris’ contract on the books it will be very hard to find that second star to partner with Embiid.
