16. Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets are one of the few teams that are an All-Star away from being a playoff contender. They have a nice young core headlined by LaMelo Ball and a solid group of veterans led by Gordon Hayward.
They need star power and the Philadelphia 76ers can provide it. The Sixers need more depth and the Hornets can help them in that regard. This could benefit both teams pretty well if this hypothetical trade happens.
The Sixers turn Simmons, Milton, and Reed into Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier, and Kelly Oubre, plus two future first round picks. Bridges is a candidate for the Most Improved Player award who has All-Star potential. Rozier can be a spark plug off the bench for Philly and Oubre fills the need for a two-way wing with length. They can pay Bridges and trade Rozier this offseason if that ends up being the best thing for the club.
Simmons and Ball would make a great one-two punch as playmakers, the Hornets have a stretch five in P.J. Washington that they can start next to Simmons. With a core of Ball and Simmons, Charlotte can be contenders for a long time. Milton and Reed provide solid depth for Charlotte as well.
