14. Oklahoma City Thunder
Oh, how I would hope the Oklahoma City Thunder would want to trade for Simmons. They have great young talent and a treasure trove of picks. However, it’s very unlikely that the Thunder would want to trade for Simmons, but for the sake of argument let’s say they are interested in getting Simmons.
To be clear, there should only be one player on the Thunder’s roster that the Philadelphia 76ers. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is playing at an All-Star level and can be a plug-and-play player on this current Sixers roster. However, a deal seems very unlikely.
It seems unlikely this deal is going to happen due to the fact SGA is younger and cheaper than Simmons. On top of that, the Thunder are early in a rebuild so trading for an established All-Star doesn’t make sense unless this is one of several moves they plan on making.
For the Sixers, SGA would be a perfect compliment next to Maxey in the backcourt with his playmaking and his ability to play off the ball. On top of that, he can fill the need for perimeter defense that the 76ers are missing.
