12. Los Angeles Clippers
Simmons would be a great fit on the Los Angeles Clippers. With established stars in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, Simmons could focus on playmaking and defense. He’d fit the mold as a pass-first point guard that the Clippers need.
With that being written, the Clippers don’t have much to offer the Philadelphia 76ers in any potential trade. Their young players are all raw prospects that can’t really contribute this season. They don’t have very many draft picks to offer either. However, below a fake trade that would in theory get a deal done.
To be clear, this probably isn’t enough from the 76ers end to get a deal done. They only get one first round pick and quality veteran role players. Reggie Jackson has experienced a rebirth in L.A., Marcus Morris is a valuable two-way forward, and Luke Kennard is a sharpshooter. These are good players, but not enough to get a deal done for Simmons in reality.
On the Clippers’ end, Simmons would get to be the lone star in Los Angeles while Leonard and George are out recovering from injury this season. They also get a nice young 3-point shooter in Isaiah Joe and more big man depth in Reed.
