11. Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers would have been one of the top ideal trade candidates prior to them signing Malcolm Brogdon to a contract extension which takes him off the trade block for the rest of the season. That being written, the Philadelphia 76ers could still make a trade with the Pacers for Simmons.
The Pacers have a lot of tradable players on the roster outside of Brogdon. A trade is possible with this group, however without Brogdon, it would be better if the Pacers could get a third team involved. However, below is one potential way the two clubs could get a trade done.
Domantas Sabonis and Embiid aren’t a great pairing but the 76ers could make it work this season or they can’t get a third team involved in the trade. Worst case scenario is that Sabonis could be traded in the offseason. Caris LeVert is an elite role player who can score on all three levels while also having some playmaking skills. Chris Duarte is a nice young two-way prospect that can help Philly now.
Simmons is the legit All-Star talent that the Pacers have been missing since George was on the roster. Simmons paired with Myles Turner and Brogdon would make the Pacers a deadly two-way team. However, if Brogdon is the prize, then Philly should wait till the offseason to talk to Indiana.
