6. Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been the surprise team of the NBA. They’re a top team in the East despite losing two guards in Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio to season-ending injuries. The best part is that they are still a young team with room to grow.
Besides proving to be a good team in the East this season, they have also been connected to Simmons trade talks this season. I’ve already written about how it would be difficult to trade for the Philadelphia 76ers to trade Simmons to Cleveland. However, that’s not gonna stop me from trying in this article to make one that works.
The main goal of this potential deal is the plethora of picks Philly would get with three first round picks and two first round pick swaps. The 76ers could use those picks in a later trade if they want or they could keep them.
Trading for an injured Sexton is a risk but they could choose not to re-sign him this offseason if they don’t like his long-term prognosis. Kevin Love is a high-end backup big man who would give the Sixers option in the postseason. His fit is so seamless with Embiid so much so that he could be a starter if they could find a team to take Tobias Harris in a separate trade.
