5. Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls are in a tough spot as they have one major flow on their roster despite the great play this season . It’s not their guard depth or the All-Star caliber big men. They’ve been one of the surprises in the NBA as they currently own the best record in the East.
The issue with the Bulls is because the season-ending to Patrick Williams, the Bulls don’t have a long perimeter defender to guard the likes of Kevin Durant or Antetokounmpo. That’s where a potential Simmons trade could push them into title contention.
The Bulls don’t have too much to offer, but there are far worst returns on this list than Lonzo Ball, Coby White, and an injury Patrick Williams, plus a protected first round pick. Ball is an ideal backcourt mate for Maxey, despite his injury. White will help with the team’s bench scoring and next season Williams will be able to help with the perimeter defense.
For the Bulls, Simmons can fill the roles of Ball and Williams pretty well with the exception of the 3-point shooting. Reed and Bassey also bolster the size of the Bulls frontcourt. Overall, this is a doable deal, although the Bulls probably come away winners in this one.
