4. Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets don’t make much sense as a trade partner for the Philadelphia 76ers. Durant is clearly off the table, Harden seems like a shell of his former self, and Kyrie Irving is…complicated, to say the least.
However, both teams could use a swap of a superstar to better compliment the rest of the star. The question is how much are the 76ers willing to give up for one of the Nets All-Star guards who are less enticing than they were last year?
In an ideal world, Harden would be the target of the Sixers. However, based on this contract this year, that makes it difficult to trade for him during this season. Personally, I’m against any trade involving Irving based on his unpredictable nature. That being written, if he was playing for Philly, he’d make them a title contender. Jevon Carter also helps the point guard depth chart and adds needed defensive backbone to the position.
The Nets may want Maxey, but having two elite perimeter defenders goes a lot further, especially when the Nets already have a young scorer in Cam Thomas. Both teams come away better on paper, but would either star in this deal suit up for their new team?
