23. Denver Nuggets
Like several other teams on this list, the Denver Nuggets shouldn’t have Simmons on their radar. They have their point guard and both forward positions filled out pretty well with Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, and Michael Porter Jr.
What makes any Simmons trade even harder with the Nuggets is that due to the extensions that both Gordon and Porter Jr. have signed this offseason it pretty much takes them off the table in any potential trades this season. That being written, there is a way for Simmons to get to Denver, but the Philadelphia 76ers don’t come out as winners.
Essentially the Sixers get draft picks which probably won’t be good and role players in Will Barton JaMychal Green, and Monte Morris. Not the ideal return for Simmons, but considering the trade limitations that the Nuggets have, this is the best Philly can get back.
For the Nuggets, the fit is questionable. Simmons gives them another playmaker and defender, but he clogs off the middle for Gordon and Nikola Jokic. However, he would make the Nuggets one of the biggest teams in the NBA. Isaiah Joe and Charles Bassy are in this deal for salary filler purposes.
