22. Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks make sense as a landing spot for Simmons, in terms of having a clear role. His fit next to Luka Doncic can be figured out by head coach Jason Kidd. Simmons’ fit with Kristaps Porzingis is natural as well.
However, the Mavericks don’t have much to offer the Philadelphia 76ers. They won’t give up Doncic and Porzingis doesn’t make sense for the Sixers. Now a three-team deal could work out better for a deal getting done. However, if both teams are only two involved then the proposed trade blow would work on paper.
Yet again, this trade is another one on this list in which the opposing team comes away as the winner. Dallas gets a steal in this deal but because the rules of this article are that three-team deals are off the table, then this is the best deal Philly could get.
The Sixers flip Simmons, Joe, and Bassey into Jalen Brunson, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Reggie Bullock, plus two picks. Brunson is the prize in this trade for the Sixers as the other two players are more or less 3-and-D players. Brunson has shown flashes of being a legit point guard but he can play off the ball with Maxey as well.
