3 Sixers that could be dealt at the 2022 trade deadline: Jaden Springer

Despite being just being drafted in the previous draft, Jaden Springer should be available in trades. It’s not that Springer has disappointed on his draft value being a late first round pick who is only 19 years old.

The issue is that Springer is a raw prospect who’s stuck on an NBA team trying to win a title. Yes, he’s growing on the Sixers’ G-League affiliate the Delaware Blue Coats, but the 76ers need players that can contribute now. That’s especially with Simmons not with the team.

Most rebuilding teams should be interested in Springer. The Thunder, Blazers, Pistons, and Houston Rockets should all be interested in Springer as a prospect and most of these teams can send a player who can help Philly this season in return.

In the long run, the Sixers might regret trading Springer if they end up doing so. Especially if he reaches his potential as a two-way guard. However, the mode of operation this season should be to win with Joel Embiid is in his prime, and if that means trading Springer then so be it.
