Final thoughts on the Sixers’ trade for James Harden

Like all major moves, there will be an adjustment period for Harden and the Sixers, but this is the exact move we as Sixers fans hoped for when Ben Simmons requested a trade.

Philly brings an elite perimeter threat who will be an instant boost to their offense.

Harden is someone you can give the ball to and get you a bucket while doubling as a great playmaker. His pick-and-roll action with Embiid should be one of the best in the league, and both players will benefit from one another.

Bringing Harden into the fold will also allow Maxey and Harris to revert back to being score-first players who won’t have as much playmaking responsibilities. The top four of Embiid, Harden, Harris and Maxey is now the most offensively talented quartet in the league who will be gunning for an NBA championship.

Daryl Morey played the long-game in the Ben Simmons saga in the hopes of acquiring a superstar player, and he did just that with the James Harden trade.
