Sixers podcast: James Harden and Ben Simmons press conference reactions
By Uriah Young
This episode of the Sixer Sense Podcast welcomes an up-and-coming sports radio personality from one of the city’s most popular stations, 97.5 the Fanatic. Hunter Brody joins us to discuss the latest news surrounding the Sixers.
The podcast starts off with a quick recap of the horrible loss to the Boston Celtics at home. In the Wells Fargo Center, the Sixers looked flat and uninspired as Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum stole the show on national television. The podcast offers thoughts related to the reasons why the Sixers could not get up for this game.
The Sixers welcomed James Harden to Philly while the Nets welcomed Ben Simmons to Brooklyn… what did we learn?
The next topic revolves around the two press conferences that welcomed two All-Stars on two different teams. We begin with the Sixers’ introduction of James Harden to the city of Philadelphia. We explain our thoughts on his responses to the media regarding his time in Brooklyn and his outlook on the Sixers.
Once we are done with the James Harden press conference, we dive into the Ben Simmons introduction to Brooklyn. The podcast debates whether or not Simmons deserves criticism for using mental health as an excuse for not playing in Philly. We also give our projections on how Simmons will do on the Nets alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
The final topic brought up relates to Doc Rivers. We address his status as coach now that he has two prolific scorers in Joel Embiid and James Harden. Is Doc Rivers’ job safe should he underachieve this year? Who could be a better coaching fit for Harden and Embiid? We answer these questions and more in this episode of the Sixer Sense.
