Just because the Philadelphia 76ers have landed James Harden in a trade, it doesn’t mean that the team’s president of basketball operations Daryl Morey is done trying to add more star power to this roster. Surely he has one or two schemes up his sleeve.

There’s one long-term play Morey could make in order for the franchise to land an NBA legend in just two years. That would be the drafting of LeBron “Bronny” James Jr. in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The Philadelphia 76ers need to draft Bronny James in the 2024 NBA Daft.

Some may wonder why the son of NBA legend LeBron James would bring a superstar? Bronny James certainly isn’t the same prospect as his dad was. James Jr. 43rd ranked prospect of the 2023 draft class according to ESPN. He’s a 6-foot-3 point guard and per Stephen A. Smith of ESPN, he has a nice handle and shot.

He’s not a bad prospect at this point, but he doesn’t appear to be a franchise-changing player either at this point. Then why is it important to draft James Jr.? Easily, it comes from a quote from his father during All-Star weekend, per Jack Baer of Yahoo Sports.

"“My last year will be played with my son,…Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”"

Not only will this help his son’s draft stock by saying this, but essentially any team that drafts Bronny will also get Lebron too. Imagine LeBron with Joel Embiid and Harden.

Embiid should still be in his prime and whatever slippage that Harden may start to experience having LeBron on the roster will help offset that. It might open the Sixers championship-contending window for another season even if LeBron isn’t playing at his peak at that point.

This is a move the Philadelphia 76ers should consider as both of their dynamic duo should still be on the team playing great basketball.
