3 bench players that the Sixers need to step up in the postseason: Furkan Korkmaz
Like most fans, I’ve been disappointed by the season that Furkan Korkmaz has had after getting a $15 million contract this offseason. This is easily is worst Korkmaz has had as a regular rotation player.
He’s averaging 7.8 points on 39.2 percent from the floor and 29.3 percent from downtown (career-low). After a hot shot to begin the year, Korkmaz has been relatively cold or inconsistent from deep.
When Korkmaz is consistent, he’s a quality bench player who can go off for 20 points on any given night. He can be a real spark plug off the bench when he’s on and that’s exactly what the 76ers are missing on the perimeter.
It’s fair for fans to be pessimistic about Korkmaz turning it around at this point in the season. Especially due to the fact he’s been on the fridge of the rotation for the second half of the year. However, if he can, then he can become a big asset for the Sixers this postseason.
