The Sixers are up 3-0 on the Toronto Raptors. Before the series, did anyone see that coming? Philadelphia’s impressive performance continued Wednesday night, when the team battled back from a big early deficit, locked in defensively, and gutted out an overtime victory despite James Harden fouling out with 26.2 seconds left in regulation.

The hero of the night was unsurprisingly Joel Embiid, who scored 33 points and hit the buzzer-beating, game-winning 3-point shot at the end of OT. That’s where we start the podcast — with Embiid’s iconic shot, his MVP-level performance, and the Sixers’ gutsy march to victory.

Beyond Embiid, we discuss Tobias Harris‘ continued dominance as a “role player,” James Harden’s clutch first half buckets, and we even give credit to Doc Rivers, who has coached an excellent series despite considerable noise around his future with the franchise.

The Sixers are up 3-0 on the Raptors; is the series over already?

Naturally, after some reflection on the Sixers’ dominance in Game 2, the conversation turns toward Game 4 and the remainder of this series. Can the Raptors really hope to compete? Is Game 4 already in the bag, and if not, how long will the Sixers let this series drag out?

The impending return of Scottie Barnes is mentioned, and we discuss the obvious benefits of getting the series done sooner than later — especially after such a grueling and laborious Game 3. Then, to round out the podcast, we touch briefly on other series around the league and drop some new-release movie recommendations to hold you over until the next Sixers game on Saturday.

As always, thank you for tuning in to The Sixer Sense Podcast. Please subscribe and leave us a five-star review on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google Play. We will be back early next week to discuss Game 4 and whatever else is on the horizon for Philadelphia.
