On this episode of the Sixer Sense Podcast, Lucas Johnson and Uriah Young offer their thoughts on the current state of the Sixers / Heat series. We recap the most recent game, project our ideas for the next game, and discuss other topics related to the 76ers.

The Sixer Sense Podcast Episode 187

We start things off with a conversation about the ugly road loss in Miami. Joel Embiid, James Harden, Tyrese Maxey, and Tobias Harris all failed to score 20 points, which led to a blowout victory for the Heat. The podcast offers insight on the other deficiencies that Philly couldn’t shake off and what disappointed us the most in this game.

We then pivot to the MVP topic that has finally been decided. Nikola Jokic was awarded his second consecutive MVP trophy despite an arguably more stellar season from Joel Embiid. The podcast addresses the voting system and how it could be improved if certain changes were made. We also state opinions related to how Embiid distinguished himself on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

Next, the podcast provides predictions on Game 6, which is in Philadelphia. We discuss who needs to step up while Embiid’s injuries still hamper him, what Doc Rivers should do to combat Miami’s strategies, and why the Sixers should switch things up to tie the series and force a game seven in Miami.

The final topic revolves around the rest of the league semifinals series. The podcast goes into the heated series between the Suns and Mavs. We also comment on the Celtics/Bucks and Warriors/Grizzlies matchups.
