5 NBA veteran free agents that impressed in the G-League: Quinn Cook

Meeks isn’t the only NBA champion on this list. Quinn Cook also won two titles with the Golden State Warriors as their backup point guard. At 29-years-old Cook has been a journeyman for his career up to this point.

He’s played for five franchises during his four year stint in the NBA. He last played in the 2020-21 season for both the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers. For his career, he averaged 6.4 points and 1.9 assists, while converting 40.8 percent of his 3-pointers.

This past year, Cook played for the Stockton Kings where he was a G-League star. In 11 regular-season games, Cook averaged 23.5 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.9 rebounds, while shooting 44.0 percent from behind the arc.

Cook’s NBA skills are simple, he’s an elite catch-and-shoot guard. He’s not great at playmaking or defense, but with the likes of James Harden and Joel Embiid on the team, all they need is his 3-point shooting. With the team’s need for shooting, Cook would be an inexpensive addition to the Sixers’ roster.
