5 NBA veteran free agents that impressed in the G-League: Tyreke Evans

While Tyreke Evans never won an NBA title, he was the Rookie of the Year in the 2010 season. Evans never quite lived up to the billing after that award, however, he’s had a solid NBA career up until he was suspended from the NBA for drug use in 2019, per the New York Post.

Prior to that, the 32-year-old wing was a serviceable starter when he was healthy, which wasn’t as often as most would have liked. He played in 10 NBA seasons prior to his suspense, which is now over. During those seasons, the 6-foot-6 playmaker averaged 15.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.2 steals. While he only shot 32.3 percent for his career, during his last four seasons he never shot below 35.0 percent for a whole season.

Evans is attempting an NBA comeback and started it by playing for the Wisconsin Herd. He only played two games for the club and was clearly working himself back. He averaged 8.0 points and 3.0 assists. He also shot just 25.0 percent from the 3-point line during the regular season.

It’s clear he was rusty those two games, but his playmaking and scoring on the wing is something that the Sixers desperately need. He’s not bad defensively either so he could be a great pick up assuming he still has something left in the tank.
