Jaden Hardy. 25. player. 29. . SG. San Antonio Spurs

2022 NBA Mock Draft — 25. Jaden Hardy, Spurs

The Spurs are in talent acquisition mode. No player development staff has a stronger track record. Jaden Hardy’s G-League season was a minor disaster, but he’s a big and talented scoring guard who could blossom into something much more. San Antonio should be in no particular hurry to win games, so taking the long view is the right move.

79. . C. Dallas Mavericks. Mark Williams. 26. player

2022 NBA Mock Draft — 26. Mark Williams, Mavericks

Mark Williams and his 7-foot-7 wingspan would make an immediate different in Dallas’ frontcourt. The Mavs could look to acquire a more established center this offseason, but for now, the priority is to upgrade over Dwight Powell. Williams might need some time, but he’s a hulking presence in the paint with more than enough talent to eclipse Powell. Catching lobs from Luka while anchoring one of the NBA’s top defenses is as good a spot to be as any.

Kendall Brown. 27. player. 110. . PF. Miami Heat

2022 NBA Mock Draft — 27. Kendall Brown, Heat

Miami has an excellent track record of player development under Erik Spoelstra and Kendall Brown is the perfect project to take on. He’s a non-shooter right now, but there’s reason to believe he could shoot in time. He’s an excellent passer and cutter in the meantime, using his athleticism to glide for impressive finishes at the rim. On defense, he can guard all over the floor. He has all the tools for success. The Heat probably don’t need a rookie to contribute in year one, so this is a safe long-term bet.
