4 free agents who can be contingency plans for Green: T.J. Warren

It’s fair to say that going after T.J. Warren is one of the biggest gambles in free agency this offseason. He was injured in the NBA Bubble and for the past two years has only played a grand total of four games.

At 6-foot-8, Warren has the size to be serviceable on the defensive and has been a threat to score the ball for all of his career. He’s not an ideal defender to put into the starting lineup but could be lethal as a fifth option for the Sixers as he makes his comeback from injury.

Prior to the injury in “The Bubble”, Warren was showing real flashes of stardom. That season he scored a career-high 19.8 points per game. The 28-year-old had also shot 40.3 percent from the 3-point line. For his career, he’s averaged 15.5 points on 35.7 percent shooting from downtown.

With the Indiana Pacers in a full-on rebuild, it seems extremely unlikely that Warren returns to that roster. The Sixers give him a chance at a big role and the ability to compete for a title. It should be noted that Warren was 19th on my unrestricted free agent big board.

Any of these free agents should be in the Philadelphia 76ers price range to pursue and could provide a significant upgrade for their depth moving forward.
