3 most likely Philadelphia 76ers’ players to be traded during the draft
3 most likely players to be traded during the draft: Danny Green
Last and certainly not least is Danny Green. According to Keith Pompey of The Inquirer (subscription required), the Sixers are looking to shop Green and their 23rd overall pick for a rotational player. This certainly isn’t surprising considering Green’s deal for next season isn’t fully guaranteed and the fact that he’s probably not going to play next season due to injury.
Green is a multi-time NBA Championship claiming three titles in his 13-year career. However, at 34 years old and having to come back from a torn ACL and LCL, the likely hood of him playing again, let alone having a meaningful role, seems unlikely. However, with his $10 million contract, he’s a tradeable player who could help Philly get a quality player in return.
Packaging him with the 23rd pick could help the Sixers land a quality starter or a high-end reserve during the draft. With plenty of teams in a rebuild or entering a rebuild, the 76ers should be able to find a taker for Green and the 23rd pick.
Philadelphia 76ers fans shouldn’t be surprised if any or all three of these players are traded on draft night. The Sixers have the resources to make a trade, but will they?
