Top 30 NBA small forwards — 27. Eric Gordon, Rockets

Eric Gordon navigated the Rockets’ losing season with aplomb, posting some of the best numbers of his career while also shepherding Houston’s young guards. He has made himself very desirable for contenders looking for an upgrade on the wing. His volume and efficiency from behind the 3-point line is hard to beat, and he’s capable of playmaking for others off the drive.

Top 30 NBA small forwards — 26. Herbert Jones, Pelicans

Herbert Jones was robbed of second team All-Defense and first team All-Rookie. He’s already on the shortlist of best perimeter defenders in the NBA — a lanky 6-foot-7 wing with preternatural instincts and a non-stop motor. He has to get better offensively, but Jones will be a thorn in the side of NBA offenses for the next decade plus. He’s genuinely absurd to watch on that side of the ball.

Top 30 NBA small forwards — 25. Cam Johnson, Suns

Cam Johnson was rightfully in the running for Sixth Man of the Year after coming into his own as Phoenix’s primary backup. He’s the poster child for modern 3-and-D wings. He has size, mobility, and one of the cleanest 3-point strokes in the game. He’s a star in his role and could see his duties expand over time for the Suns.
